In Blount County, Family Promise is making strides to provide families with a safe place to live and ways to stay connected online.

The Family Promise mission is to create a community where every child has a home. Their team provides a roadmap of programs to help families secure housing, food, and reliable transportation.
HOUSING IS HEALTHCARE

In a typical year, Family Promise has a hands-on approach to help families. Their day center provides a place to cook meals, wash clothes, and grab diapers and other supplies. They also organize case management meetings with parents to talk about job opportunities, budgeting, and education for their children.
PANDEMIC HITS
Like many organizations, Family Promise quickly realized that they had to change their course in order to still help those families impacted by COVID.

RELIABLE INTERNET IS ESSENTIAL
Virtual meetings are great, but Family Promise still faced a challenge. Families living in their apartments didn’t have access to reliable internet.
Allevia Technology installed internet in our apartments during the pandemic. Internet is a necessity for who we serve. Kids need it for school and parents need it to work.
